Points Donation Challenge Wrap-Up

Thanks to all the donors and giftees for stepping forward to take part in the Points Gifts challenge.

In the end we had 16 donors and 20 giftees. Donors have been notified and will be making their point gifts directly to assigned giftees. If you offered to donate and have not received a direct message from me, please let me know.

Giftees should be seeing messages from Dreamwidth when the gifts go through. If you have not received anything by May 31, please let me know as something may have gone awry.

Once all gifts have been sent we will have added $402 to Dreamwidth's intake this year \o/

Get Gifted with Dreamwidth Services!

In this event's first week 15 people stepped forward to donate Dreamwidth points to other site users who wanted to add or try out paid features. Per their pledges we have enough points to gift either 68 people $3 each in points, or fewer people enough points for particular things (such as 6 months of a premium paid account, a rename token, extra icons, etc.).

Now however it's your turn: we need people who would like paid features to step forward! Leave a comment indicating you'd like some Dreamwidth points, or mention what you'd specifically like the points for. (That way I can allot points based on desired purchases). Comments to this post are screened and all you need say is "Points!".

Remember, paid features is the only way to support Dreamwidth financially. Having giftees means we give Dreamwidth financial resources for all they do.

Please also promote this offer in your account and communities if you're not interested in paid features yourself! ( Read more... )

Community culture used to be big back in the day, but as fics drifted over to AO3, fanart and graphics to tumblr, and random thoughts/reviews sprinkled in just about everywhere, the communities have been somewhat left behind. But they're such a wonderful hub for potential new folks to stumble across!

Hi!

I've been embarking on a project to archive the Jrockyaoi LiveJournal community, which centered around RPF of Japanese rock/visual kei musicians, and as I've been doing the archiving, I've been noticing a lot of things! Overarching trends, fandom culture stuff, funny lines in fics, all of these that I wanted to share with people!

Even if you don't know who any of these guys are that I'll namedrop, if you're interested in Livejournal fandom culture, anime fandom culture, or RPF fandoms and how they operate, I'd really love my posts to spark discussion (and to maybe vkeipill some people...)

If this sounds like something you'd be into, here's my first post!
