Getting to Know You
What are your hobbies? Writing, mostly, but also cross-stitch, crochet, cooking/baking and gardening. I mostly talk about the last three and the writing, if I'm honest.
Are you involved in fandom? If so, what fandom(s)? How do you participate in fandom? Not particularly. There's stuff I like, but it doesn't come up very often on the ol' journal. I do talk occasionally about ttrpg (not just D&D), but. Most of my fandom participation is off-site. I do post fic on AO3 (I'm hafnia there, too), but most of it's original work :)
Tell us about your pets: I have three cats, all of whom are absolute gremlins. The Little Cat is a three-legged wee tabby beastie, Hilda is an enormous chonky white cat with odd eyes (one yellow, one blue), and Gideon is a tabby/Siamese mix who wants to think he is a distinguished gentleman (he is incorrect).
How do you spend your days? Right now I am underemployed and trying to heal from some pretty intense burnout/a bad work situation I was in for too long. My days are mostly spent writing, working in my garden, and working on baking projects (mostly recently, sourdough — started baking it in February and am at a point now where I feel like I'm beginning to get the hang of it). I'm in therapy for the burnout stuff, but my life right now is pretty sedate, and I'm trying to focus, as I said, on healing.

Journal Info & Friending
What is the story behind your username? I did my PhD on group (IV) oxide materials for high-k dielectrics. If that makes you go, "huh?", note that it never comes up. I chose the name itself (hafnia) because it's the common name of the material I worked with the most, and it's very difficult to use internet search to connect to me, specifically (thank you, robots.txt!).
How long have you been on Dreamwidth? I've been on DW since 2009 (under another name), and have had this journal since 2012, though I imported all of my ancient lj entries (dating back to 2005) into it when I switched over a few years ago.

What do you post about? I mostly talk about my daily life, sometimes hobby stuff.
How frequently do you post? Every couple of weeks, at a minimum. I post when I have something I want to talk about; it's not all that often.

What do you like to read about on your friends page? I like to read about your life, too! Multiple posts a day, whatever, all good — I like to slowly get to know the people I follow.

What are you looking for in a Dreamwidth friend?Ideally you should also be above the age of 25 and have stuff you're passionate about, whether that's fandom or something else, and are working toward or living the life you want to have.
Do you have any Dreamwidth friend dealbreakers? I cannot believe I have to say this, but an actual TERF did friend me, so...no TERFs! I'm nonbinary and my best friend is trans. No thanks. No rightwing politics.

Favorite communities on Dreamwidth: I am quite fond of [community profile] booknook and usually read the reviews even if I don't comment.

Currently…
Reading: When the Angels Left the Old Country.
Watching: "This is a Gardening Show".
Listening to: I've been really big on ambient of late, mostly listening to 36.
Playing: D&D, mostly, and for some unfathomable reason I decided to boot up Skyrim for the first time in almost a decade.
Looking forward to: The Master Gardener Plant Sale being held next weekend.
Thinking about: Whether or not friends I'm seeing tonight will like the bread I'm taking them, what happens next in the novel I'm writing.
