My Answers
Book: The Complete Beans and Grains Cookbook
Magazine: Mother Earth News.
02. A piece of art.
A string of bells that I made for the window.
03. The view from your window.
Well, right now I'm in my office, which looks out on the streetside yard, which is forest, so all I can see is a wall of green leaves. Other windows have more interesting views -- the east window in the kitchen looks over the patio and then the forest garden (much smaller than the forest yard) with the birdfeeders.
04. Something you've kept from childhood.
This house, actually.
05. Your favorite mug.
Cobalt blue glass with white snowflakes on it.
06. Your lockscreen/desktop wallpaper.
I think it's still set to Stonehenge.
07. Something fuzzy.
A blanket similar to this, but mine says April Woman. Truth in advertising.
08. A piece of physical media.
Firedance: Songs for Winter Solstice by Jaiya
09. A tool you use in a hobby.
Garden trowel.
10. Something that makes you feel good.
A hot cup of tea, but this one is in the smaller peacock cup.

That would be The Coming of the Horseclans by Robert Adams
02. A piece of art.
There's a fantasy-themed painting on the wall in my living room.
03. The view from your window.
Tops of multiple trees, one with red flowers and another with fruit, screening the top of a neighbour's house; sky above.
04. Something you've kept from childhood.
Several books of fiction. E.g. The Unwilling Vestal by Edward Lucas White
05. Your favorite mug.
That would be the one I drank my first cup of coffee from this morning, now waiting to be washed. That would be The Konitz Mathematics mug, though I also own and love several other of their mugs.
06. Your lockscreen/desktop wallpaper.
Pure blue; fairly light. Apple keeps changing the pre-installed choices of wallpaper on every annual OS upgrade, converting my Mac desktop to their latest default, each uglier than the one from the prior year. A fellow mac user told me they don't delete their solid colour offerings, and if you've selected one of those you won't get the new default inflicted on you upon OS "upgrade".
07. Something fuzzy.
A mostly red sweater lying on the floor in my office. Or for a fuzzier choice, the dog's vaguely raccoon-themed squeak toy she's left lying in the hall.
08. A piece of physical media.
Does the external drive I use for backups count? Or in another sense of media, the stack of unread magazines?
09. A tool you use in a hobby.
That would be my computers and all their peripherals.
10. Something that makes you feel good.
Lots of choices. For simplicity, I'll just nominate my second cup of coffee, in a Konitz History mug.

- i don't think i actually have it anymore bc i sold it back to the used bookstore i bought it from, but it was one of the Sue Grafton alphabet books. (and even that was a few yrs ago - everything since has been digital)
02. A piece of art.
- i have a poster of Dali's "Sacrament of the Last Supper" waiting on a frame. i bought it at the nat'l gallery some time ago.
03. The view from your window.
- it's pretty dark at the moment since it's night, but during the day, there are pines and oaks and dogwoods, then across the road is a big open, currently unplanted (i think) field, and pines beyond that
04. Something you've kept from childhood.
- my army of My Little Pony figures. i have something like 50-ish of them. granted, only about 5 or 6 are ones i got as a kid, but the only reason i didn't have more is bc we didn't have the spare funds to buy lots of ponies. so i filled that gap later - including some lovely online friends donating their old collections to mine. XD
05. Your favorite mug.
- it's one of those wide mugs like the ones on FRIENDS, it's dark blue and has the old name of my undergrad school on it. it's great for making oatmeal in the microwave XD
06. Your lockscreen/desktop wallpaper.
- phone lockscreen is one i found online of a photomanip/art piece of RDJ with a mechanical right hand. computer wallpaper switches every few hours between several that i have, but right now the two i have on my separate monitors are Joe Pavelski of the Dallas Stars and Gabriel Macht from the movie "Because I Said So".
07. Something fuzzy.
- i've got a pair of fuzzy slippers on the floor by the couch for if my feet get cold. they're dark blue LL Bean slippers.
08. A piece of physical media.
- i have a whole ass 4' tall, ~6' wide media shelf FULL of the stuff. XD i have all of the MCU films, plus several of the D+ shows on bluray/dvd, then a whole bunch of other dvds and dvd sets. i collect physical media alongside the digital so if the internet is out, i still have things XD
09. A tool you use in a hobby.
- which of my 12 fountain pens would you like to see? i have like 5 or 6 Lamy Al-stars, 2 Lamy Studios that i <3, a Montverde, a Lamy Safari and a few others. plus all of my pretty inks. i write roughly 97% of my fic by hand. =)
10. Something that makes you feel good.
- my purple mattress + adjustable bed frame. hands down - best purchase i've ever made. highly recommend the adjustable bed frame for sure and a comfortable mattress (bc i know purple isn't for everyone)

The Bad Ones by Melissa Albert. It was for a book club I left, but wanted to finish the book anyway. (I'm still in 3 other book clubs.)
02. A piece of art.
Above the TV, I have a mini painting by a local artist that is a still life of a Chinese takeout container and a small bunch of red roses.
03. The view from your window.
The little park my street circles and the crowd flying in for an afternoon snack.
04. Something you've kept from childhood.
A small pewter cougar figurine I earned in Girl Scouts.
05. Your favorite mug.
It's a large mug with an orange cat stalking a fish in a fish bowl around it.
06. Your lockscreen/desktop wallpaper.
Bela Lugosi & Boris Karloff drinking together.
07. Something fuzzy.
My new pen. My aunt gave them out as party favors for her birthday. They are all gold with a giant puff ball at the end. Mine has a grey puff.
08. A piece of physical media.
A stack of DVDs I got from the library I'm watching my way through.
09. A tool you use in a hobby.
Knitting needles. Most of them are put away, but I have a set of wooden size 8s that live in my pen cup at my work table.
10. Something that makes you feel good.
A canister of fun sized packs of Sour Patch Kids. I found out about this hack of eating something really sour to fight off an anxiety attack and it actually seems to help.
