Just a final post for this event to let everyone know how the Points Gifts challenge worked out.

In the end we had 12 donors and 14 giftees. Points have now been allotted and donors have been notified about making their point gifts directly to assigned giftees. Giftees should be seeing messages from Dreamwidth when the gifts go through.

Once those are complete we should have added $216.50 to Dreamwidth's intake this year \o/

Multi-Fandom Writing Prompt Comms & Whatnot 2024 Edition - what it says on the tin, additions quite welcome! (List pruned and posted yearly, additions welcome any time.)

There's a friending meme happening over on anime_manga, for anyone looking for more friends into anime, manga, and adjacent fandoms.

Group-read (as in, a group all reading, sometimes on a theme, sometimes not) community readingtogether is holding a Minithon until the 15th of May. There's no theme, other than reading and chatting for 3W4DW.

Multifandom spring-inspired fanwork community spring_renewal just finished its annual round, and all prompts will be retired at the beginning of the next round. Come check out the prompt list, post for amnesty, and let it be spring all year long.

There's a Cygames Prompt Fest happening over here, arguably for 3W4DW but it'll remain open indefinitely. Prompts for any game or anime Cygames is involved are welcome. (Granblue Fantasy, Dragalia Lost, Rage of Bahamut, Bravern, Zombie Land Saga, Priconne, World Flipper, Little Noah, etc.)

There's also a new Rec-A-Game Meme, for anyone who'd like video game recommendations. It's been more than a decade since the last one, so it's time. It'll also remain open indefinitely.

And lastly, small_fandoms is running its annual Small Fandoms Promofest, which runs until May 15th. Come share a bit about your favorite small fandoms or maybe find a new one of your own!

I wanted to do something cool for 3w4dw and I came up with this idea!

Go to my journal and tell me either something cool you've seen on DW lately, or something you want to see more of, and I'll pull a tarot and oracle card. I'll also write a tiny story inspired by the cards, what you show us, or both.

In this event's first week 11 people stepped forward to donate Dreamwidth points to other site users who wanted to add or try out paid features. Per their pledges we have enough points to gift either 60 people $3 each in points, or fewer people enough points for particular things (such as 6 months of a premium paid account, a rename token, etc.).

Now however it's your turn: we need people who would like paid features to step forward! Leave a comment indicating you'd like some Dreamwidth points, or mention what you'd specifically like the points for. (That way I can allot points based on desired purchases). Comments to this post are screened and all you need say is "Points!".

Remember, paid features support Dreamwidth financially. Having giftees means we add money to Dreamwidth's coffers.

In celebration of Three Weeks for Dreamwidth, there's celebrations going on in two of the tokusatsu comms I run!

For toku100challenge: there is a friending meme! Get to know your fellow tokusatsu writers! The questions for this meme are centered around tokusatsu, writing, and some general ones.

The drabble prompt meme that was created for last year's celebrations is still open too, if anyone would like to take part in that as well.

For tokurecs: the self-reccing period post for the month is up, and has an extended timeframe that will last throughout all the days during the whole celebration period of Three Weeks For Dreamwidth. In the last 2 years a successful effort was made to support Dreamwidth by gifting points to other DW users. Shall we make it 3? 😉

Since part of the purpose of the 3 Weeks event is to generate support for the Dreamwidth site, I'd like to prompt a call for Dreamwidth users who can spare a little cash to offer points for other Dreamwidth users.

What does that mean?

Community culture used to be big back in the day, but as fics drifted over to AO3, fanart and graphics to tumblr, and random thoughts/reviews sprinkled in just about everywhere, the communities have been somewhat left behind.
