Getting to Know You
What are your hobbies? Writing, mostly, but also cross-stitch, crochet, cooking/baking and gardening. I mostly talk about the last three and the writing, if I'm honest.
Are you involved in fandom? If so, what fandom(s)? How do you participate in fandom? Not particularly. There's stuff I like, but it doesn't come up very often on the ol' journal. I do talk occasionally about ttrpg (not just D&D), but. Most of my fandom participation is off-site. I do post fic on AO3 (I'm hafnia there, too), but most of it's original work :)
Tell us about your pets: I have three cats, all of whom are absolute gremlins. The Little Cat is a three-legged wee tabby beastie, Hilda is an enormous chonky white cat with odd eyes (one yellow, one blue), and Gideon is a tabby/Siamese mix who wants to think he is a distinguished gentleman (he is incorrect).
How do you spend your days? Right now I am underemployed and trying to heal from some pretty intense burnout/a bad work situation I was in for too long. My days are mostly spent writing, working in my garden, and working on baking projects (mostly recently, sourdough — started baking it in February and am at a point now where I feel like I'm beginning to get the hang of it). I'm in therapy for the burnout stuff, but my life right now is pretty sedate, and I'm trying to focus, as I said, on healing.

Journal Info & Friending
What is the story behind your username? I did my PhD on group (IV) oxide materials for high-k dielectrics. If that makes you go, "huh?", note that it never comes up. I chose the name itself (hafnia) because it's the common name of the material I worked with the most, and it's very difficult to use internet search to connect to me, specifically (thank you, robots.txt!).
How long have you been on Dreamwidth? I've been on DW since 2009 (under another name), and have had this journal since 2012, though I imported all of my ancient lj entries (dating back to 2005) into it when I switched over a few years ago.

What do you post about? I mostly talk about my daily life, sometimes hobby stuff.
How frequently do you post? Every couple of weeks, at a minimum. I post when I have something I want to talk about; it's not all that often.

What do you like to read about on your friends page? I like to read about your life, too! Multiple posts a day, whatever, all good — I like to slowly get to know the people I follow.

What are you looking for in a Dreamwidth friend?Ideally you should also be above the age of 25 and have stuff you're passionate about, whether that's fandom or something else, and are working toward or living the life you want to have.
Do you have any Dreamwidth friend dealbreakers? I cannot believe I have to say this, but an actual TERF did friend me, so...no TERFs! I'm nonbinary and my best friend is trans. No thanks. No rightwing politics.

Favorite communities on Dreamwidth: I am quite fond of [community profile] booknook and usually read the reviews even if I don't comment.

Getting to Know You

What are your hobbies? Reading, writing, little hobbies here and there.

Are you involved in fandom? If so, what fandom(s)? How do you participate in fandom? Most active fandoms are Heated Rivalry/Game Changers and Schitt's Creek, but I'm always game to geek out about Heartstopper, Parks and Recreation, Our Flag Means Death, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Buffyverse. And I love gabbing about media in general - books, movies, TV shows. I don't have as many specific fandoms as a lot of people, but I'm a very fannish person in general.

My fandom participation generally entails discussion (when possible - sadly, it's far too sparse these days), listening to podcasts or videos, reading/writing fanfic.

Tell us about your pets: None currently.

How do you spend your days? Working, normal adulting stuff, I guess?

Journal Info & Friending

What is the story behind your username? It sounded edgy when I was in high school, and it stuck even 25 years later. Although I did finally change it on A03.

How long have you been on Dreamwidth? I apparently joined in 2011, but I wasn't really active until 2016 or 2017.

What do you post about? Fannish things, thoughts on various topics (I love trying to get conversations going), sometimes rambling about writing. I occasionally talk about disability and neurodivergence.

There's some real life, but to be honest, this isn't really a "daily life" journal.

How frequently do you post? A few times a week.

What do you like to read about on your friends page? I love conversations, be in fandom or non-fandom. I love reading people's thoughts on various media.

What are you looking for in a Dreamwidth friend? Someone who's interested in the above, I guess?

Do you have any Dreamwidth friend dealbreakers? No bigots (this includes transphobes) or Trump supporters. Also, I'm not a big fan of "good vibes only". While I do generally keep things on the positive side, life isn't all sunshine and rainbows.

Getting to Know You
What are your hobbies? I write (occasionally), I read (occasionally), I draw (occasionally), and I go on research rabbit holes at 3 am in the morning.
Are you involved in fandom? If so, what fandom(s)? How do you participate in fandom? I am a certified dyed-in-the-wool Fandom Weirdo, always have been, and I do a little bit of everything. I write fanfic, draw fanart, have started to dip my toes into Fanlore editing, and I've always had a soft spot for Fandom Stats. I'm really into anime/manga/General Weebshit, especially Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and Ensemble Stars, though the visual kei/Jrock RPF obsession has returned to eat my brain. Pray for me...
How do you spend your days? Grad school + work is kicking my ass right now, so I haven't had a lot of time to engage in hobbies. The light is shining at the end of the tunnel, though...

Journal Info & Friending
What is the story behind your username? It's actually a Homestuck reference! I wanted to make a clean break from my old online identity, but because I'd used the same username for so long, I had no idea what I wanted to do, and then I remembered what I used to go by on the old MSPA forums (I was a Jade Harley roleplayer), so I used that one.
How long have you been on Dreamwidth? 8 years!

What do you post about? Just whatever pops into my head, honestly. Lately I've been making link posts full of stuff I want to rec, and that's been fun. I dump meta and headcanons about my fandoms, I complain, I vomit out my random thoughts, you honestly get the whole smorgasboard when you follow me.
How frequently do you post? I'm pretty erratic with my posting frequency, honestly. Lately, I've found myself posting every other day or so, but who knows how long that will last?

What do you like to read about on your friends page? Pan-fandom/geek culture observations, meta, stuff Relevant To My Interests, anything involving kitty cats.

Do you have any Dreamwidth friend dealbreakers? If you're the kind of person who thinks that there are some things that are ipso facto immoral to create art about, or that fandom culture is inherently immoral, we're probably not going to be friends. Also, I don't get super political frequently on this journal, but I consider myself a left-libertarian, so if that's a deal-breaker for you, then sorry.

Are you involved in fandom? If so, what fandom(s)? How do you participate in fandom? Not really anymore. Like, I like stuff like BGIII, Dragon Age franchises, Mass Effect franchise, Severance, Hadestown, etc. But like, not deep into any fandoms.
Tell us about your pets: I have a 13 year old cat named Booker who is nasty to anyone but me.
How do you spend your days? I'm an animator for TV, but I've been on hiatus (aka got burnt out) and now I am currently a SAHM trying to find out what I actually want to do with my life.

Journal Info & Friending
What is the story behind your username? I really wanted a name that didn't have any numbers, and the name that I was on Livejournal was taken by an RP account. Pasta was the first thing I could get that didn't have numbers or more than one word. Pasta isn't even my favorite food!
How long have you been on Dreamwidth? Umm. I was on Livejournal since 2001, and I had a Dreamwidth since early on, but haven't used it until the last 4ish years or so?

What do you post about? I post about my life. My kids, my husband, my friends, places we go, my hobbies, and my work when I'm not on hiatus. I also post pictures or have a photo dump of pics from my cameras.
How frequently do you post? A couple of times a week since 2001. I have always been consistent.

What do you like to read about on your friends page? I enjoy reading about people's lives. Their jobs, their relationships, their hobbies. That's what I post and that's also what I like to read. Not really about fandom stuff, unfortunately.

What are you looking for in a Dreamwidth friend? People's lives!! I love long rambles about their lives and the people in their lives. I'm especially interested in people who don't live in a place like mine (suburbs of USA east coast). Different countries and experiences are so interesting to me. But just life in general. And very very minimal fandom.
Do you have any Dreamwidth friend dealbreakers? Orange potato supporters and anti-vaxxers. No thank you.

What are your hobbies? Learning languages (Mandarin, Korean), reading, cross-stitch, dolls.
Are you involved in fandom? If so, what fandom(s)? How do you participate in fandom? I watch Chinese dramas, and I'm a big fan of His Man and other similar shows. I also love manga.
Tell us about your pets: Two dogs: Wei (chihuahua mix), Jareth (lab mix). Five cats, mainly my husband's babies, but the two formerly-feral girls, Hestia and her daughter Hilda, are special to me. A green-cheek conure named Dewey -- I believe he's like 23 now.
How do you spend your days? I work 40 hours per week in the sciences. I spend about half of my evenings and weekends doing chores, and the other half reading, watching TV, or doing hobby stuff.

Journal Info & Friending
What is the story behind your username? "Azalea" is for the Azalea journal of Korean literature in translation, which was important to me leading up to and into graduate school. The "snow" is similar to a lot of my other user names in the past in that I love wintry aesthetics.
How long have you been on Dreamwidth? Since 2017.
What do you post about? This journal was originally for my doll hobby, but it's become much more my "life" journal, and my other journal has gone fallow.
How frequently do you post? About once a week, but sometimes it could be as little as once a month, or as much as once a day (but that wouldn't last for more than a few days at a time).
What do you like to read about on your friends page? Real life stuff and, if you are a doll hobbyist, words about what you do with your dolls, their characters, your work on them, stuff like that.
What are you looking for in a Dreamwidth friend? Understand if I'm away for a while. I do take long internet breaks sometimes. Don't feel like you need to comment on my posts if you're not on that page with me. Sometimes it can feel like a sting if I write a long emotional one, and someone responds with a quick reply to a trivial part of the post, i.e. "Nice new layout," or a back-handed compliment: "These photos are actually good."
Do you have any Dreamwidth friend dealbreakers? Yes, if you are a Trump/Abbott/etc. supporter, if you don't like ideas like equity, affirmative action, welfare, feminism, or if you are into AI -- honestly, that's also a "no" for me. Like, if you like to use Chat GPT to write stuff, we're probably not on the same page.

Are you involved in fandom? If so, what fandom(s)? How do you participate in fandom? Fandoms include but not limited to: Miami Vice, Good Omens, Quantum Leap, Leverage, Starsky & Hutch, The Sentinel, Torchwood, Scarecrow & Mrs. King. I write and read fanfic. I've also been known to make moodboards, banners, and screencaps. I enjoy discussing my favs and meta. I love watching songvids, but I don't have enough patience to create them.
Tell us about your pets: My kitty died last year, I don't have another yet 😢
How do you spend your days? Working. Unwinding after work with fandom activities.

Journal Info & Friending
What is the story behind your username? I love the moon. When I was in Moonlight fandom, I needed a username for the ML forums, so I chose Moon. I love cats, and there's also a Cat Stevens song called "Moonshadow," so I somehow ended up as Cat Moon. I used to use other pseuds in other fandoms a long time ago, but ever since then, I've stuck with this one. I have no plans to change it, and all my fic is archived under it.
How long have you been on Dreamwidth? Since 2019. I was away from fandom for several years, and when I returned, I wanted a place that was similar to LiveJournal.

What do you post about? Mostly fandom stuff. Occasionally RL. I am a huge shipper (all gender combos welcome).
How frequently do you post? At least a few times a week, sometimes more.

What do you like to read about on your friends page? Fandom, fanfic, fun memes, community activities/challenges, updates from my friends.

What are you looking for in a Dreamwidth friend? Anyone who is interested in what I post is welcome to friend me (but I may not friend back unless we have at least one fandom in common). Most of my posts are not f-locked. It helps if they like old TV shows, especially those from the 70s and 80s.
Do you have any Dreamwidth friend dealbreakers? I'm an anti-Trump, liberal, queer who has no tolerance for racism, so if you don't agree with those things, I doubt we'd get along. For the most part, fandom is my escape from RL, my happy place. I do my activism IRL.

What is the story behind your username? [personal profile] senmut is a bastardization of an 18th Dynasty man that I find fascinating. I'd read a very old book that used this spelling once, and chose it when I was looking for a name less connected to my writing life or my actual chosen use-name.
How long have you been on Dreamwidth? About a week or so after they opened the doors? I had an invite, that's how long.

What do you post about? Mostly? Fic updates when they happen. (Link to AO3 and one other archive, plus the full work in a DW post, cut if longer than a drabble.) I also sometimes post about my life, the people around me, or random thoughts that I would like to share.
How frequently do you post? I was every day for a long while, then things got rough. But I rarely go more than a few days without a post of some kind.

What do you like to read about on your friends page? It's a mix of fandom and real world stuff. Because that's the kind of people I look for. Ones sharing their enthusiasm about whatever it is in their lives at the moment, be it family, events, or fandom.

What are you looking for in a Dreamwidth friend? People sharing what they feel strongly about. I'd rather not have a day-in-day-out negative feed from anyone, but expect to see a mix of ups and downs. I read my circle daily, multiple times even, and while I am in a lull on commenting, I pop in quite randomly with them.
Do you have any Dreamwidth friend dealbreakers? Being anything from anywhere in the world that looks like the current regime I live under.

Listening to: Yes? A couple of years ago I challenged myself to return to listening to Soul and R&B, which is turning up some great stuff I missed as well as some oldies I truly loved. I decided to give Blues another try because of Sinners, and damn that was a great idea. (I feel like as a kid, I couldn't connect for lack of experience. I got experience; I connect.) And yet the pop and rock is there, along with an occasional day of country music now (mostly the ladies and those men who aren't whining about their trucks and dogs and girlfriends).
Playing: Found an early access Merge-2 Mystery game called Marie's Mysteries that I'm enjoying.
Looking forward to: I dunno? Supergirl? Street Fighter? The new Ted Lasso? Being out of debt so I can switch to part time work?
